The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol in the Ikorodu area of the state.
According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Muyideen Olatunbosun, while patrolling the Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric axis of Ikorodu, acting on intelligence gathered during the operation.
A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of a rubber-made pistol, an axe, suspected criminal charms, and a quantity of an illicit drug commonly known as “Ice.”
Police say the suspect is currently in custody and assisting investigators with their inquiries, while efforts continue to track down other alleged members of his cult group.
Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives involved for their vigilance and swift response to the credible tip-off. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against cultism and other criminal activities across the state.
