In a bold and impassioned statement posted on social media, Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has called for a unified and peaceful march to Aso Rock Villa, demanding the release of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore declared his willingness to set aside political differences for the sake of justice, urging politicians, traditional leaders, religious figures, and citizens, particularly from the Southeast, to move beyond rhetoric and take decisive action.
He specifically called on prominent Southeastern leaders, including Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo (@CCSoludo), Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (@SenatorAbaribe), Abia State Governor Alex Otti (@alexottiofr), and former presidential candidate Peter Obi (@PeterObi) to join the march in person.
Sowore emphasised that the demonstration would be peaceful, legal, and highly visible, aiming to demand justice and an end to what he described as the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu.
The tweet, which has sparked widespread discussion online, was accompanied by the hashtag #FreeNnamdiKanuNow, signalling a renewed push for Kanu’s release amid ongoing legal and political tensions surrounding his case.
