Teen Arrested for Vandalising Safety Studs on Third Mainland Bridge

-

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of an 18-year-old suspected vandal, Dogara John, who was apprehended on April 6, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m. while tampering with road safety installations on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) caught the suspect in the act of removing reflective road studs designed to enhance visibility and guide motorists, particularly at night and during adverse weather conditions. A search at the scene led to the recovery of twenty reflective studs in his possession.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, condemned the act, stressing that vandalism of public infrastructure poses serious risks to lives and undermines efforts to maintain safety across the state.

He reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for such offences and urged residents to remain vigilant, reporting suspicious activities around public infrastructure to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929. #Securitynewsalert.com
