An 18 years old boy, Desmond Ejinyere, was alleged to be among the suspects that attacked some victims, dispossessing them of five phones and one Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, said the robbery incident happened on the 5th of November 2022, at about 12:15 PM.

The image maker explained that it was a gang of four that attacked the victims, others escaped, but Ejinyere was not so lucky.

Edafe said: “On the 5th of November 2022 at about 12:15 PM, an indigene of Orerokpe (name withheld) reported that about 11:40 PM, four hoodlums armed with a gun attacked and dispossessed them of one Iphone Xr, one Iphone 6s, one Tecno spark 2, one Iphone Max, Camon 19 and UBA ATM card at gunpoint. On receipt of this information, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Orerokpe mobilised and led the patrol team to the scene.

“The hoodlums took to their heels on sighting the Police but the team succeeded in arresting one of the suspects named Desmond Ejinyere, 18 years old, while others escaped into the bush. One locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun and two live cartridges were recovered. While combing the bush, another member of the gang, Joshua Emoefe, 20 years old was also arrested. Manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.”
