Tension As CP Directs Area Commanders, DPOs, Tactical Units To Clamp Down On Unauthorised Use Of Siren, Tinted Glasses

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello, has ordered Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Units to clamp down on unauthorised use of siren, tinted glasses and fake private number plates in the State.

 

The Command spokesman, a Chief Superintendent of Police, Nafiu Abubakar, said: “The Kebbi State Police Command wishes to remind members of the public that, the order for the war against abuse of Diplomatic number plates, use of unregistered vehicles and covered number plates, unauthorized use of siren and tinted glasses is still in force.

 

“It is pertinent, for the avoidance of doubt, to categorically note that, only the under mentioned individuals/agencies are authorized to use siren:  The President, Vice President, Senate President and House of Representatives leadership, Chief Justice; The State Governors and Deputy Governors; and the Military, Police, Paramilitary, Fire Service, Ambulances, Bullion Vans (with escort).

 

“In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani has directed the Area Commanders, DPOs and tactical units to clamp down on the abuse of such order, and to arrest and prosecute the violators, impound their vehicles, siren, and fake number plates.

 

“The CP hereby appeals to the good people of Kebbi State to desist from the contravention of such order, as anyone found violating the order will be appropriately sanctioned.”
