Different groups, believed to be terrorists have begun synchronised attacks in different parts of Nigeria, with one of the groups attacking Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja on Tuesday night and another group targeting President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team in Katsina State.

Incidentally, these attacks believed to be synchronised occurred just a few days after terrorists carried out a deadly attack at Shiroro, Niger State, killing over 30 military and police personnel were killed.

Julianafrancisnews.com learned that following the spread of attacks in Nigeria, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has ordered all parks in FCT to close by 7:PM.

However, the attacks in Katsina State have consumed some policemen, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), identified as Aminu Umar, Area Commander, Dutsinma.

The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Gambo Isah, explained that on Tuesday, at about 11:30 PM, a distress call was received that terrorists numbering 300, on motorcycles, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles and General-Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), ambushed ACP Aminu Umar, Area Commander, Dutsinma and team, while on clearance operation of recalcitrant bandits and terrorists, in Zakka forest, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.  Consequently, the Area Commander and one other gallantly lost their lives during a cross-exchange of gunfire. The Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, on behalf of the officers and men of the Command expresses his deep sympathy to the family of the deceased.   He reaffirms the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the ongoing onslaught against terrorism in the state until it is completely rooted out.”
The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media, and Publicity, Garba Shehu, reacting to the attack on the President’s convoy, said: “The Presidency has described as sad and unwelcome, the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah. The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police, and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.  Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. All the other personnel, staff, and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
