Tinubu Approves 1,000 Forest Guards, Military Base for Oyo After School Abductions

-

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of 1,000 forest guards, special forces, and the establishment of a military base in the Ogbomosho area of Oyo State, following the abduction of pupils and teachers from three schools in the Oriire Local Government Area, according to The EagleOnline.

The announcement came on Sunday after a high-powered Federal Government delegation visited the Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire LGA, conveying the President’s deep concern over the incident and his commitment to securing the safe return of all victims.

The abductions, which occurred on May 15, 2026, affected pupils and teachers from Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School.

The delegation’s visit marks one of the most visible federal responses to the kidnappings since the incident, with the nation’s top security leadership directly engaging the affected communities for the first time. #Securitynewsalert.com
