The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Owode Egba has arrested two suspects for conspiracy and vandalism of IBEDC installation wires and iron in the Ogunmakin area of Ogun State.

An alert was received on January 20, 2025, at about  7:00 PM.

Operatives from the Safer Highway reported that on the same day, while at the Macpherson University area, they encountered two men carrying rolls of cable wires and iron rods.

The men asked for assistance in carrying their load, arousing suspicion that the item may be stolen items.

On arriving at the overhead bridge at Ogunmakin, the driver signalled the police officers on duty and informed them about his suspicions, and the police flagged down the vehicle.

After a careful search of the vehicle, the two suspects were identified as Agbo Jeremiah, 34 years old, and Sunday Ngbuta, 29 years old, were subsequently arrested.

Photographs of the stolen item were taken, and the suspects could not ascertain the possession of the item or satisfy questions put to them.

The suspects are currently being interrogated, and further updates will be provided.
