The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police P. Bright Edafe, stated that the Command has foiled a robbery in Agbor, the state, leading to the arrest of one suspect and the recovery of dangerous weapons.
According to Edafe, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 4, 2026, when a distress call was received from a resident of Full Current Compound, Alihame, Agbor.
The caller reported that about eight armed men were attempting to break into their premises.
Acting swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer of Agbor Division deployed the Anti-Crime Patrol team to the scene.

In a follow-up operation on April 6, police recovered a locally fabricated single-barreled short gun concealed near the crime scene, based on the suspect’s confession.
Investigations are ongoing, with efforts intensified to track down other members of the gang who remain at large.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, praised the quick coordination of the Agbor Division, the rapid response of operatives, and the vigilance of residents.
