Ogun Police Arrests Suspect Over Killing of Two, Injuring Three Others

-

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others during a violent attack in Olámbe area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

According to Babaseyi, detectives from the Ajuwon Division arrested the suspect after he allegedly attacked five individuals with a knife following a dispute linked to failed business dealings.

“On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., the suspect stabbed five people who were reportedly trying to calm him down,” Babaseyi said.

He added that two of the victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, died while being rushed to the hospital, where a doctor later confirmed them dead.

“The three other victims, Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25, sustained serious injuries but are currently responding to treatment,” he said.

The police spokesperson noted that the suspect fled the scene after the attack but was later tracked and arrested by operatives.

“The suspect is currently in police custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution,” Babaseyi added.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the killings and assured that justice would be served.

“The Command will ensure that the full weight of the law is brought to bear on the suspect,” Ojajuni said, urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies. #Securitynewsalert.com
