Three arrested for beating friend to death over motorcycle squabble

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested three men, Abubakar Ahmed, Ubaidu Ahmed and Halilu Ahmed for beating Sanusi Abubakar to death over a motorcycle quarrel

The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Nafi’u Abubakar, said: “On the 19th September 2022 at about 04: am, the trio of Abubakar Ahmed, Ubaidu Ahmed and Halilu Ahmed all of Badariya area, Birnin Kebbi, conspired and went to the residence of  Sanusi Abubakar. On getting there, they demanded to see his younger brother, Abbas Abubakar aka Zabi. They accused him of stealing their motorcycle.”

The image maker further stated: “The trio took Abbas Abu Abubakar to their house, tied him with a rope and beat him to a state of comma. On the same date at about 2:30 PM, the suspects took Abbas Abubakar in their motor vehicle to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, where they were instantly arrested. Abbas Abubakar was rushed to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Police Command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora has directed the Divisional Police Officer (IPO) to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) Birnin Kebbi for thorough investigation with a view to unravelling the circumstances surrounding the dastardly act.”
