Dele Momodu Questions Tinubu’s Silence Amid U.S.-Led Military Operations In Nigeria

-

Prominent journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has questioned the absence of Nigeria’s Commander-in-Chief following reports of U.S.-ordered military operations taking place on Nigerian soil.

In a statement posted on social media, Momodu revealed that news of the operations broke in the early hours of Christmas night, with reports indicating that President Donald Trump had authorized the actions in cooperation with the Nigerian government.

According to Momodu, the details of the operation remain “foggy and brief,” leaving many Nigerians uncertain about the scope and implications of the military activity.

He criticised the lack of immediate communication from Nigeria’s leadership, noting that in other nations, such developments would prompt the president to cut short any vacation and convene a war cabinet at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Momodu urged the Nigerian President to demonstrate leadership at this “crucial and historic moment,” stressing the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty while standing alongside America in the fight against terrorism.

“The country is in our prayers,” he concluded, reflecting the growing concern among citizens over the government’s silence.
