Operation Hadin Kai Foils Terrorist Infiltration, Arrests Suspected Collaborators in Borno

-

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, have foiled an attempted terrorist infiltration and arrested several suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP collaborators during a series of coordinated operations across Borno State.

According to the Acting Media Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Haruna M. Sani, the operations formed part of ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency efforts aimed at dismantling insurgent networks and disrupting their support structures across the North-East.

Sani disclosed that troops responded swiftly to the sighting of terrorists advancing toward the North East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi at about 9 a.m. on June 9, 2026. He said the troops employed coordinated firepower to neutralise the threat and prevent the insurgents from gaining access to the facility.

Following the engagement, troops conducted exploitation operations in the area and recovered two terrorist corpses and a motorcycle, confirming the failure of the attempted infiltration.

In separate intelligence-led operations, troops of the 25 Brigade Garrison, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics suppliers identified as Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa.

Similarly, troops of the 162 Amphibious Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, apprehended another suspected logistics supplier, Musa Idi, along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly supplied logistics and other materials to terrorists operating within Damboa Local Government Area.

Items recovered from the suspects included 19 wristwatches, a large mat, a transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals and other materials believed to have been intended for terrorist use. The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody pending further investigation.

In another operation, combined troops of Sector 2 and the CJTF arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Adams Shittima, in Damboa town at about 5:58 a.m. on June 9.

According to Sani, the suspect was intercepted while attempting to procure farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorist elements. During preliminary interrogation, he allegedly confessed to providing logistics support and intelligence to insurgents operating within the area.

The military spokesman noted that sustained offensives against terrorist enclaves continue to weaken insurgent groups and force many members to abandon criminal activities.

He commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance and resilience, stating that the recent successes demonstrate Operation Hadin Kai’s commitment to dismantling terrorist support networks, protecting communities and creating conditions for lasting peace and socio-economic recovery across the North-East.

“The operational achievements underscore our resolve to deny terrorists freedom of action and ensure the security of law-abiding citizens,” Sani stated.
