Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Recover AK-47 Rifles in Borno

-

Troops of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered weapons in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State, the Nigerian Army has announced.

Acting on credible intelligence, troops conducted a coordinated operation along a known criminal corridor in Magumeri, leading to the arrest of five suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate accused of terrorising civilians in the area.

During the operation, soldiers recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition, dealing a blow to the criminal network’s capacity to carry out further attacks.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects are linked to kidnapping and other criminal activities across parts of Borno State. They are currently in custody and are cooperating with security agencies to track down other syndicate members and dismantle their support networks.

The Nigerian Army described the operation as a demonstration of its “relentless commitment” to protecting lives and property while sustaining offensive action against terrorists and criminal elements in the North East.

The military said it remains committed to ensuring lasting peace and stability across the country. #Securitynewsalert.com
