The Oyo State Police Command has announced another breakthrough in its ongoing investigation into a suspected child-stealing, human trafficking, and baby factory syndicate. Four additional children have been rescued and reunited with their biological parents, following earlier operations that freed 17 children and led to multiple arrests.
The latest success came after the Command’s public briefing on the initial rescue. Video clips of the operation circulated widely, prompting parents who recognised details linked to their missing children to lodge fresh complaints.
These reports generated new investigative leads and led to further interrogation of the principal suspect, AdeJoke Popoola, also known as Orente Alagbo. During questioning, Popoola disclosed information that guided police operatives to the locations of more stolen children.
On September 3, 2026, three-year-old Taiwo Olamilekan was rescued in Akoka, Lagos State. Days later, on September 8, Aleemi Omogoriola Okuleye was recovered in Ikorodu, Lagos State. The investigation then extended to Delta State, where on September 14, two sisters, Adeyinka Ayomide (aged 9) and Adeyinka Gold (aged 2), were rescued in Agbor. The sisters had allegedly been stolen from their parents in Ogun State before being trafficked to Delta.
Following the recovery, the Command verified the identities of the children and successfully reunited them with their families, bringing relief to parents who had endured painful separation.
Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, praised the cooperation of affected families and emphasised the importance of sustained interrogation and credible information in dismantling the syndicate. He directed investigators to maintain momentum, pursue every lead, and ensure all culprits face justice.
The Command has urged parents and guardians of missing children to come forward with relevant information to assist ongoing investigations.
