The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has condemned the recent violent attacks on communities in Agwara and Borgu Local Government Areas of Niger State, which reportedly led to the loss of many lives.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Professor Yilwatda expressed deep concern over reports of sustained violence in the affected areas. The statement referenced killings in Kasuwan Daji and Kaima, the burning of markets, destruction of homes and places of worship, as well as the abduction of school pupils.
The APC National Chairman sympathised with Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, the state government, and the people of Niger State, particularly families and communities that have suffered what he described as painful and irreparable losses. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attacks.
Professor Yilwatda further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift response, facilitated through the Ministry of Defence, the Service Chiefs, and other security agencies. He urged security forces to continue efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.
