The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, on Friday embarked on an extensive Easter celebration visibility patrol across the state.
The exercise covered major highways and towns, including Ibusa, Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro, Oleh, Ughelli, Warri, and Effurun, as part of efforts to strengthen police presence and assess operational deployments during the festive period.
During the patrol, CP Oyeniyi visited checkpoints and interacted with officers on duty, evaluating their alertness and readiness.
He emphasised the importance of proactive and intelligence-driven policing, urging personnel to remain vigilant, as early detection and swift response are crucial in preventing crime.
The Commissioner reminded officers of the need to uphold professionalism and integrity in their dealings with the public. He stressed that courtesy, discipline, and respect for human rights are central to effective policing, warning against extortion and unprofessional conduct, which he said would not be tolerated.
Reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented policing, CP Oyeniyi charged officers to uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force while carrying out their lawful duties.
