The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, on Wednesday, unveiled the logo, mascot, and theme of the 15th Biennial Police Games at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan International Peacekeeping Conference Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including members of the National Assembly, Federal Executive Council, State Houses of Assembly, senior police officers, traditional rulers, and other esteemed guests, marked the official launch of preparations for the Games, which will be hosted by Delta State.
Governor Oborevwori described the Police Games as a platform for strengthening camaraderie, discovering sporting talent, and promoting fitness and discipline among officers. He emphasised that the biennial event demonstrates the Nigeria Police Force’s role not only in securing the nation but also in fostering unity and social cohesion.
Highlighting the symbolism of the unveiling, the Governor explained that the logo represents identity and pride, the mascot embodies energy and courage, while the theme reflects friendship, brotherhood, and excellence values that define both policing and sportsmanship.
He commended the Inspector General of Police and the organising committee for their dedication, while saluting the athletes who will represent the Force with honour and integrity. “Delta State is proud to host this edition of the Games,” Oborevwori said, assuring participants and guests of an atmosphere of peace, hospitality, and celebration.
The Governor expressed hope that the 15th Biennial Police Games would inspire greatness and strengthen bonds within the Police Force and across the nation. The event concluded with his prayer for blessings on the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
