Delta State Police operatives have arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered a large cache of illicit substances following a predawn raid in the Amukpe area of Sapele Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out by the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) at approximately 5:30 a.m. on May 22, 2026, was based on credible intelligence about a suspected drug hideout in the area.
Two suspects were apprehended: Onyedikachi, 40, and Edna Karaki, 36, both residents of Amukpe, Sapele. Recovered from the scene were quantities of Tramadol, CSC Codeine, Molly, Swinol, Vagadine, Red Boy, Zaza, Taker, and other suspected harmful substances.
Both suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation to dealing in controlled drugs. Police say preliminary investigations indicate they were involved in the sale and distribution of the recovered substances. They remain in custody as investigators work to determine the full extent of their network.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the VCRU operatives and warned that illicit drug abuse is a key driver of violent crimes, including cultism and armed robbery across the state.
“The Command will sustain intelligence-led operations,” Oyeniyi said, urging residents to report suspicious persons or activities to the Command Control Room on 08036684974 or the VCRU on 09123772889. #Securitynewsalert.com
