Enugu State Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Stolen Tricycle in Rapid Operation

-

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, attached to the Trans-Ekulu Division, have successfully arrested 30-year-old Ibeabuchi Ifeanyi Collins for the alleged theft of a tricycle. The suspect was apprehended on April 18, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., just hours after the vehicle was reported missing.

The operation commenced after the custodian of the tricycle reported that the vehicle, which had been parked in front of his residence in Trans-Ekulu, was discovered missing at 6:00 a.m. Following the report, police operatives were swiftly mobilised, and a description of the vehicle was circulated via the Command’s control room. This rapid coordination led to the recovery of the stolen tricycle along Nike Road in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu.

Upon his arrest, Collins reportedly confessed to the crime, citing personal hardship as the motive for his actions. The Command has confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned in court once the ongoing investigations are finalised.

Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, PSC, mspsp, praised the Trans-Ekulu operatives for their efficiency and quick response. While reaffirming the Command’s dedication to protecting lives and property, the Commissioner also urged vehicle owners to remain vigilant and adopt basic security measures to safeguard their assets.

The announcement was officially released on April 20, 2026, by SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Enugu State Command. #Securitynewsalert.com
