Military Destroys ISWAP Waterway Logistics Network in Devastating Precision Strikes

-

Troops of the Joint Task Force (Northeast) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have dismantled a major Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) logistics hub in Lake Chad, delivering precision air strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists and crippled their resupply network.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (Northeast) Operation HADIN KAI, the operation was conducted overnight on April 21–22, targeting ISWAP’s waterway logistics around the Kaniram Island axis in Northern Borno State.

“Acting on credible intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance inputs, OPHK air assets confirmed the concentration of over 30 terrorist boats coordinating movement and resupply activities. Following deliberate confirmation in line with the Rules of Engagement, precision strikes destroyed several boats and disrupted their logistics hub,” Uba said.

Real-time ISR enabled follow-on strikes against regrouping elements in nearby vegetation, resulting in the neutralisation of more than 30 terrorists. Surviving fighters were seen fleeing in disarray, signalling a breakdown in their cohesion and command structure.

In a related engagement at Sowolwolo in the Sambisa Forest axis, OPHK, working with partners, conducted additional precision strikes that destroyed three terrorist gun trucks and eliminated more fighters in the vicinity.

Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) confirmed significant enemy losses, with intelligence pointing to mass burial activities by ISWAP in the Mallam Fatori axis. Ground forces are now exploiting the effects of the strikes to dominate adjoining areas and prevent reconstitution by fleeing elements.

“These operations highlight OPHK’s sustained offensive pressure and effective air–land integration in dismantling terrorist networks, degrading their capabilities, and denying them freedom of action,” Uba added.

“The Military High Command commends troops for their impressive battle performance and urges them to sustain aggressive operations to dominate the battlespace.”

The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements until they are decisively defeated.
