Musician arrested for abducting policeman, threatening to throw him in river

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular musician, Panshak Zamani, otherwise known as Ice Prince for allegedly abducting a policeman and threatening to throw him into the river at the Lekki Phase 1 area of the metropolis.

Policemen arrested the Hip-Hop musician from Victoria Island Police Station after the abducted policeman was rescued from him by other police personnel.

It was also gathered that the musician allegedly became violent after he was flagged down for driving a car that had no plate number.

After he was told of his offense, he agreed to go to the police station with the policemen. Immediately one of them entered his car, with the intention of guiding him to the station, the musician drove to another destination. He also alleged to have attacked the policeman.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, who announced the incident and arrest on his Twitter handle @BenHundeyin, said that the Oleku singer will be charged in court.

His words: “At 3 today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
