In a bid to deepen bilateral defence ties, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Muhammed Bello, has held high-level strategic meetings with senior military officials of the Czech Republic.
The discussions took place with the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Miroslav Hlaváč, Commander of the Czech Land Forces, Maj. Gen. Josef Trojánek, and Commander of the Czech Air Force, Brig. Gen. Petr Tománek.
Talks focused on enhancing military collaboration in areas such as training, equipment maintenance, and the provision of technologically advanced platforms for the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The Czech military leadership expressed readiness to provide all necessary support to Nigeria in its ongoing fight against terrorism and banditry.
As part of the visit, Minister Bello toured exhibition stands showcasing land and air platforms. He emphasised that Nigeria would require such advanced systems to strengthen its counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations.
