The Nigerian Army has rescued 11 Nigerians abducted by armed criminals during a late-night operation along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway corridor, reinforcing its determination to deny criminal elements freedom of action.
The rescue operation, carried out on January 26, 2026, was executed by troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Doka, who detected the movement of the kidnappers and their captives through the Gidan Duna–Amale bush track using high-definition, long-range CCTV surveillance.
According to the Army, the criminals were attempting to relocate their captives under the cover of darkness when troops swiftly launched a coordinated interception. A high-speed pursuit involving tactical vehicles and motorcycles overwhelmed the suspects, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee into the surrounding scrubland.
The operation led to the successful rescue of five adult males, three adult females, and three children. The victims had been held in captivity since their abduction from Gada Mallam Maman Community on October 26, 2025, marking the end of a 92-day ordeal.
Military sources described the operation as another demonstration of the Army’s effective integration of modern surveillance technology with agile ground operations, particularly along critical transportation corridors.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, securing major routes, and ensuring that criminal elements find no safe haven, day or night, across the country.
