NSCDC Reaffirms Fight Against Cross-Border Crime, Hosts Italian Humanitarian Group in Badagry

-

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to curbing cross-border crimes, including economic sabotage, vandalism of infrastructure and assets, human trafficking, illegal detention camps, fake tertiary admissions, school vandalism, baby factories, and online fraud.

The Command pledged on Tuesday when representatives of Condivisione fra i Popoli, an international humanitarian partnership network based in Rimini, Italy, visited the NSCDC’s Badagry Divisional Office in Lagos State.

Badagry is a border town linking Lagos to Ogun State and neighbouring West African countries, including the Republic of Benin, and has been a focal point of the Command’s anti-crime operations.

During the visit, the Italian delegation commended what it described as the Command’s record-breaking operational achievements in the area.

Officials said the visit strengthened institutional collaboration aimed at protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI-P), while also boosting community engagement, advocacy, and security awareness in communities along the border.

State Commandant of the NSCDC Lagos Command, Adedotun Keshinro, FNARC, commended the Italian group as well as the Badagry Divisional Officer, Chief Superintendent of Corps Ekunola Gbenga, for their roles in fostering the partnership, which he said was strengthening public trust in the Corps.
