Operation Hadin Kai Rescues Six More Abducted Victims in Ongoing Search Mission

-

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have rescued six more abducted persons as ongoing search and rescue operations continue for victims of terrorist attacks in Borno State.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, the military said the latest breakthrough followed sustained air and ground operations backed by credible intelligence.

According to the statement, the rescued victims—comprising four adults and two infants—were found at Talakawa in Chibok Local Government Area. The victims were among those abducted in Mussa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, during an attack in May.

The military said the rescued persons had been evacuated to a secure location where they are undergoing comprehensive medical evaluation and receiving appropriate care.

Operation Hadin Kai also disclosed that immediate relief materials and other necessities had been provided to help the victims recover from their ordeal, while arrangements were being made to reunite them safely with their families.

The Theatre Command described the latest rescue as another indication of the effectiveness of the ongoing coordinated search and rescue operations involving the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Borno State Government, other security agencies and auxiliary forces.

It added that troops remain in active pursuit of fleeing terrorists, maintaining sustained pressure along their withdrawal routes to deny them freedom of movement.

During the continued exploitation of the terrorists’ escape routes, troops reportedly recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by the insurgents, a development the military said reflected the effectiveness of the ongoing offensive operations and the disarray among the retreating terrorists.

The command reiterated its commitment to continuing search and rescue operations until all remaining abducted victims are safely recovered.

“The latest success further demonstrates the effectiveness of the coordinated Search and Rescue efforts by Operation HADIN KAI and reinforces the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Borno State Government, security agencies and auxiliary forces to the safe recovery of all abducted persons,” the statement said.

It urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies, while cautioning the public against spreading or relying on unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its resolve to protect lives and property, defeat terrorism decisively and restore lasting peace and stability across Nigeria’s North-East region.
