The Delta State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla and arrested two suspected drug dealers with 132 sachets of tramadol in separate operations across the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said detectives attached to ‘A’ Division, Warri, swiftly recovered an ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla with registration number WW-579MD after it was reported stolen from Awani Close, Ajamugha, Warri, on August 13, 2026.
According to the command, the vehicle was recovered along Winners Church Road, Ughelli, less than two hours after the theft following a coordinated operation involving detectives and the Dragon Patrol Team. Police said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible for the theft.
In a separate operation on the same day, operatives attached to Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus during a stop-and-search exercise along Nnebisi Road, Asaba.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol, while two suspects, identified as Hillary Osondu, 54, and Abubakar Bello, 54, were arrested. The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Commending the operatives for the successful operations, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, urged officers to sustain proactive and intelligence-led policing across the state.
He also called on residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide credible information about suspicious persons and activities, assuring them of the command’s commitment to preventing and combating crime.
