Police Warn Nigerians Against Fake Online Recruitment, Fraudulent ‘Free Application’ Website

-

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has warned members of the public against a fraudulent online publication advertising a purported “Nigerian Police Free Application” and directing applicants to unauthorised websites.

The Force, in a disclaimer issued over the weekend, said the publication did not originate from the Nigeria Police Force and should be disregarded.

According to the police, the fraudulent advertisement was designed to mislead members of the public into providing personal information through unauthorised websites under the guise of accessing recruitment opportunities.

“The Nigeria Police Force has become aware of a fraudulent online publication advertising a purported ‘Nigerian Police Free Application’ and directing members of the public to unauthorised websites to submit personal information for supposed recruitment opportunities,” the statement said.

The Force categorically stated that “the publication did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force and should be disregarded in its entirety.”

The police consequently advised members of the public not to click on links associated with the fraudulent publication or submit their personal information through such platforms.

The Force also warned against making payments in connection with the fake recruitment advertisement.

“All genuine recruitment information and official communications from the Nigeria Police Force are published only through verified NPF channels and authorised recruitment platforms,” the statement added.

The police urged prospective applicants and other members of the public to rely exclusively on verified Nigeria Police Force platforms for information concerning recruitment and other official activities.
