The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Auwal Musa Mohammed as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, alongside the deployment of eight Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands.

The appointments were announced following a meeting of the Commission on Tuesday and are intended to address operational needs arising from the recent promotion of former state commissioners.

AIG Mohammed brings over 33 years of policing experience spanning operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing, and training. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Bayero University, Kano.

Before his latest appointment, he served as Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zones 3 and 6. He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

The Commission approved the deployment of the following Commissioners of Police:

Speaking during the meeting, Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (rtd), a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and Commissioner I of the PSC Board, who presided over the session, urged the newly posted senior officers to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties.

He charged them to uphold the rule of law, maintain neutrality in the performance of their responsibilities, and carry out their assignments with diligence and professionalism.

Other members of the Commission present at the meeting were Alhaji Abdulfatah Mohammed, Justice Christine Ladi Dabup (rtd), and the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.
