Rivers Police Command Appoints ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo as New Spokesperson

The Rivers State Police Command has announced a new face at the helm of public communications.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the appointment of ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Command.

ASP Kaborlo, a native of Ogoni in Tai Local Government Area, joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2023 after completing a rigorous five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Rivers State University.

Speaking on her appointment, the Command noted: “ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo has demonstrated commendable professionalism, discipline, and dedication in her service. We are confident that she will strengthen police-community relations and ensure transparency in our communications.”

Her career has already seen her serve in diverse roles, including postings at Okporo Divisional Police Station, the Human Rights Section (DFA), and as Second-in-Command at the Police Public Relations Office in Rivers State.

She has also undergone specialised training in combat operations and counter-terrorism at the Police Mobile Force Training School in Nasarawa, as well as citizenship and leadership training at Shere Hills, Jos.

Outgoing PPRO, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, described the transition as seamless: “The Command is assured that ASP Kaborlo will continue to uphold the values of effective communication and transparency. The public can expect strengthened engagement under her leadership.”
