Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have successfully thwarted a planned infiltration by ISWAP terrorists in Bitta, Sector 1.
The encounter marks the third significant defeat for the insurgent group within a single day.
The attempted attack at Bitta was reportedly a desperate move by ISWAP to regain momentum following recent battlefield losses. However, military sources indicate that vigilant troops had anticipated the manoeuvre, laying a “decisive offensive-defensive” trap for the advancing fighters.
As the terrorists moved toward the military position, OPHK forces launched coordinated spoiling actions. The manoeuvre effectively broke the terrorists’ assault formation while simultaneously cutting off their planned withdrawal routes.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Operation HADIN KAI, noted that the attackers were met with overwhelming resistance and superior firepower, forcing them into a chaotic withdrawal while suffering significant losses.
The victory at Bitta is part of a broader surge in military success across the Northeast theatre. In the last 24 hours alone, OPHK troops have neutralised threats in three separate locations, including a failed terrorist assault repelled at Banki and another infiltration attempt neutralised at Azir Bridge.
Military analysts suggest these successive setbacks have severely constrained the terrorists’ freedom of movement and denied them the ability to generate propaganda from successful raids.
The Military High Command has formally commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience. Despite the frequency of the attacks, the headquarters confirmed that morale remains high and troops continue to dominate the operational environment.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba emphasised that the military remains in firm control of all locations, with orders to maintain the current offensive tempo to further degrade the remnants of the terrorist factions. #Securitynewsalert.com
