Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of 26 years old Godspower Moses.
Moses was said to have been tracked by the suspected armed robbers and just as he was about to drive through his gate into his compound, he was stopped and shot in his stomach and chest. He died on the spot.
The incident happened on 27th August 2022 at about 9:00 pm.
It took the combined efforts of policemen from Delta State Police Command and Lagos State Police Command to track and arrest the suspect suspects.
The suspects, after killing Moses, took his phone and car and disappeared.
Our reporter gathered that after the remains of Moses were discovered, his brother Godbless Ezebri, 42, of Ovwor Town in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State alerted Owian Police Station.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Owian Aladja Division, Delta State, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Aliyu Shaba was alerted of the incident.
The police, explaining how Moses was killed, said: “Around that time, four armed men used a tricycle and trailed the deceased, Godspower Moses. While at the gate of his house, behind Dewin Hotel Ekete inland, the gunmen shot and killed him. The robbers took away his iPhone 13 Promax, and wristwatch and drove away with the deceased’s Mercedes Benz Glk with registration number GWA930CG, black colour. Police detectives visited the scene, where two AK47 rifles’ ammunition empty shells were recovered. During a close examination of the deceased’s body, detectives noticed the bullet wound in the stomach and chest regions.”
Following the report of Ezebri, police launched an investigation. Police got the tracking number of the car and started tracking it.
Through the tracking, the police discovered that the car, which was stolen in Delta State, had been moved to Ajegunle Jurisdiction in Lagos State.
While the police were tracking the car, they noticed it was being moved in and out of Ajegunle Ijora Badia and Apapa.
Determined to catch the suspects, Delta State Police Command synergised with Lagos State Police Command.
“The DPO of Ijora Badia in Lagos State was alerted, and with combined efforts, the said vehicle was recovered. Five vehicle plate numbers, five ATM cards, eight phones, NPA stickers, wrist band charm and four suspects, namely Salisu Musa 35, Abdullazeez Saidu 35, Abdullazeez Suleiman 34 and Garuba Saleh 29, were arrested from different hotels where they lodged within Apapa area. They had made relevant information and useful statements,” said the police.
