Motorists, Commuters Breathe a Sigh of Relief as Ogun Police Clear Traffic Bottlenecks in Sango Ota, Ijebu Ode

-

The Ogun State Police Command has intensified its “Operation No Traffic Gridlock” across major traffic corridors, recording notable improvements in Sango Ota and the Ijebu Ode Toll Gate areas.

The enforcement drive, carried out on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, targeted illegal structures, indiscriminate parking, and other activities contributing to congestion.

In Sango Ota, coordinated night operations led by the Area Commander resulted in the removal of shanties and illegal structures obstructing road setbacks. Early morning enforcement, which began as early as 5:00 a.m., also cleared major obstruction points, with six vehicles impounded for traffic violations. Police said the area has since experienced smoother traffic flow, with monitoring ongoing.

Similarly, at the Ijebu Ode Toll Gate axis, police operations focused on heavy-duty trucks parked indiscriminately and roadside trading along the highway. The intervention led to the clearance of truck build-ups and other obstructions, significantly improving vehicular movement in the area.

The Commissioner of Police warned that illegal parking, roadside trading, and obstruction of highways would not be tolerated, stressing that violators would be arrested and prosecuted.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the operation until seamless traffic flow is achieved across affected corridors. #Securitynewsalert.com
