Police personnel working in the Ekpoma area of Edo State has urged the authority to launch an investigation, with a view to finding out how their colleague, sergeant Renner Loveday’s name mysterious found its way on the recent promotion list.

Our reporter gathered that the alleged crime was discovered after Loveday’s colleagues, working at the same police division with him, wrote a petition against him.  They alleged that Loveday smuggled his name into the list of those who were due for a promotion at the division because he was the sergeant of administration.

The signal states: “Loveday, with S/N0. 10082 and F/N0.  504646. Sgt Renner Loveday  Edo/Ekpoma.   The attention of authorities concerned has been drawn to the criminal activity of the above-named individual who happened to be the Sergeant Admin of Ekpoma Division and he should be called for questioning to explain how he got his name into the list of the promotion that was just released knowing full well that he was last promoted to sergeant in 2020.  These are the criminal elements and those sabotaging the efforts made by the IGP to bring out the best in NPF.  He should be called for proper questioning and disciplinary actions were taken against him to serve as a deterrent to others.”
