Sack of food turns seven locally made pistols

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the discovery of seven locally made pistols in a sack that was supposed to contain food items.

Police got to know about the incident after one Iji August residing at Lekki, on 23rd April 2022, reported to the police that he found a collection of pistols in a sack that was supposed to contain food.

According to a Police Situation Report: “Today being 24th April 2022, at 4:PM, one Aji Augustine reported that on 23rd April 2022, as he went to receive food items sent by his mother in Cross River through a driver. He was mistakenly given another sack by the driver. On getting home, he opened the sack and discovered that it contained seven locally made pistols. The case file and exhibit will be transferred to Commissioner of Police Special Squad.”
