The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has embarked on a series of strategic courtesy visits to key security agencies in the state, reinforcing the importance of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency collaboration.
On April 20, CP Oyeniyi, accompanied by his management team, visited the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Delta State Command. Two days later, he extended similar visits to the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Correctional Service.
During the engagements, the Commissioner emphasised that modern policing relies heavily on timely intelligence and that no single agency can tackle security challenges alone. He highlighted pressing concerns such as cultism, kidnapping, communal clashes, human trafficking, and drug trafficking, stressing the need for sustained cooperation, particularly as elections approach.
The DSS Director reaffirmed the collective responsibility of intelligence gathering, while the Comptroller of Immigration, G.C. Ozodinobi, and the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, CC Chuke Chike Idoko, commended the initiative. Both pledged continued collaboration, noting that joint efforts remain the most effective pathway to public safety.
The visits underscore a united resolve among Delta State’s security agencies to deepen intelligence sharing, strengthen cooperation, and safeguard peace and order across the state.
