Information reaching Julianafrancisnews.com hints that the Assistant-Inspector General of Police (AIG), in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi State, narrowly escaped death after he and his escort were attacked today.

Although the fact of the incident is still sketchy, julianafrancisnews.com learned that the AIG was attacked along Jos, Abuja Road. He was alleged to have been attacked by gunmen.

According to the sources, although the AIG escaped death by the whiskers, he sustained injuries. Tragically, his escort was not so lucky.

The sources said: “Available intelligence indicates that AIG Zone 12 was attacked earlier today along Jos, Abuja Road. He sustained gunshot injury and his escort commander was killed.”

When Julianafrancisnews.com contacted the Force Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, about the attack, he said that he was not aware. He, however, promised to find out and get back to julianafrancisnews.com.

However, at the time of filing this report, he was yet to do so.
