A farmer, Mr Kefas Luka of Rimgba village in Abaji, Abuja, is currently fighting to stay alive after a suspected herdsman, identified as Bagudu Usman, used a machete to cut off his wrist because he was attempting to take his pictures.

Securitynewsalert.com learnt that Luka had gone to his farm and was shocked to see cattle on the farm. Also with the cattle was Bagudu Usman.

Luka, outraged, whipped out his phone and attempted to take pictures of Usman and his cattle, to give to the police as evidence of those that destroyed his farm.

In order to stop him from taking the pictures, Usman used his machete and sliced off the farmer’s wrist.

The incident was said to have happened on the 23rd of October 2022, at about 3:20 PM and was reported at the police station on the 24th of October.

Securitynewsalert.com gathered that: “Mr Kefas Luka of Rimgba village in Abaji went to his farm and on reaching there, saw cattle inside his farm. Luka approached the herdsman, Bagudu Usman and then brought out his phone to take pictures of Usman as evidence that he took cattle to his farm. The herdsman, however, removed his machete and cut off Luka’s wrist completely. The victim was rushed to Abaji General Hospital and later referred to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital for admission and treatment. Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested and is now in detention.”
