How screams of raped victim in car, alerted police

A lady, who identified herself as Gift Johsua Sunday has been rescued by policemen attached to the Rivers State Police Command, after screaming to attract attention, while being held in a car by her alleged rapist.

Julianafrancisnews.com gathered on the 12th of June 2022, Operatives of Puff Adder while on a “Stop and Search duty’ along Airport Road, sighted a Mazda 323, marked SKN 187, where a female passenger, later identified as Gift Joshua Sunday was frantically screaming for help.

The Rivers State Police Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, while briefing journalists, about the incident, said: “The screams of the lady alerted the policemen who were on duty and immediately they intercepted the vehicle. The lady narrated how the driver had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. The driver, Victor Orobo, 30, was arrested. He confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court soon.”

Eboka also mentioned a case of a stolen vehicle, which was reported at Elekahia Division on the 26th of April 2022, by Kenneth Okorie.

Okorie told the police that a Toyota Corolla 2006 Model with registration Number, BH 697 AKD, blue in colour was stolen from his residence.

Operatives of the Command swung into action and recovered the said vehicle in Nasarawa State on 3rd June 2022, just as those who stole it were at the point of selling it N1, 000, 000. 00. The suspects were arrested while an investigation is still in progress. Those arrested in connection with the crime are Lawan Gemelu, 30, and Goba Abdulla, 33. The police recovered the stolen car from them.
