Mr. Matthew Ogbekhilu has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to use his good office to ensure that his brother, Peter Ogbekhilu who is presently in Police custody is released.

Matthew explained that sometimes in 2016, his brother, Peter was arrested and taken to Esigie Police Station in Benin City for a case of the missing truck that his boss Mr Friday Obule gave him to work with.

Unfortunately, the truck was stolen after work from where it was parked along 1st East Circular Road, close to his house.

Peter was arrested and taken to Esigie Police Station, where he was transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja. He was later released.

Mathew narrated: “After his release, he was reporting to Abuja to sign on different occasions. He had suggested settlement but the complainant, Mr Obule said he wanted nothing but his truck, neither was he willing to go to court. This case started in 2016 and he has been going to Police Station since then the case has not been tried in court. He was re-arrested this year by Zone 5 Police Command. Early this year he was informed that the case had been transferred from Esigie Police Station to ZIB Unit, Zone 5 with Inspector Steve as the Investigating Police Officer (IPO). On Monday, 15th of August, 2022, he was invited to Zone 5 Police Command and the case had to be charged to court. On getting to the Police Command he was re-arrested and transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja, under the IGP monitoring unit after one month of the arrest.”
