The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a strong warning to the public over the circulation of fake online recruitment portals claiming to offer entry into the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the Commission described the publications spreading across social media and unofficial websites as “entirely misleading” and the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to exploit unsuspecting citizens.
The PSC emphasised that no recruitment exercise is currently ongoing and categorically denied opening any portal for such purposes. “The general public is hereby alerted that these publications are FAKE and entirely misleading,” the statement read.
The Commission explained that when recruitment officially begins, announcements will be made only through verified and credible channels such as advertisements in reputable national newspapers, updates on the Commission’s official website (www.psc.gov.ng), and official press releases.
It urged Nigerians to disregard and ignore any unofficial portals, stressing that only information from its official sources should be trusted to avoid falling victim to scams. The PSC further advised that any fraudulent recruitment platforms should be reported to the police.
This latest advisory comes amid rising concerns about online fraud targeting job seekers, with the PSC reiterating its commitment to transparency and accountability in future recruitment exercises.
