FCID Extortion of ₦5.1m: Take It Back Movement Recovers Money, Demands Prosecution of Officers

-

The Take It Back Movement (TIB) has announced the recovery of ₦5.1 million extorted from Mr. Onyeka Nwokolo by officers attached to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annexe, Alagbon, Lagos.

In a statement signed by Lagos State Coordinator, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek, the group confirmed that the victim’s funds were restored following its petition and intervention.

TIB expressed appreciation to the Assistant Inspector General in charge of Alagbon and CP Akinyemi, Commissioner of Police, X-Squad Alagbon, for their swift and professional handling of the matter.

The movement also commended its Lagos lawyer and legal adviser, Barrister Bolaji M. Oluwatosin, who accompanied the victim and provided legal representation throughout the process.

“We deeply appreciate the decisive action of the police leadership at Alagbon and the commitment of our legal adviser, whose dedication was instrumental in securing justice for Mr. Nwokolo,” the statement read.

While welcoming the recovery, TIB insisted that the officers implicated in the crime — identified as Commander Kalu, Supol Olamilekan, and others — must be prosecuted to face the full weight of the law.

“This recovery is not just a victory for Mr. Nwokolo but also a powerful reminder that collective action and vigilance by the people can defeat injustice,” the group stated.

TIB reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims of police abuse and pushing for reforms within the Nigeria Police Force to ensure accountability and service to the people.
