IGP Disu Visits Family of Slain ASP Ejeh, Pledges Police Support

-

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ejeh Alfred, in Abuja, assuring them of continued support from the Nigeria Police Force.

ASP Ejeh, a driver attached to the Police Airwing, died in the line of duty during an operational mission on April 17, 2026.

During the visit, the IGP expressed sympathy to the widow, Mrs Mercy Ejeh, her children, and other members of the family, describing the deceased officer as a dedicated professional.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the family of ASP Ejeh Alfred. He was a committed officer whose sacrifice in service to the nation remains invaluable,” Disu said.

He reassured the family that the Force would not abandon them, stressing that the welfare of officers who die in active service remains a priority.

“The Nigeria Police Force will continue to stand by you. The welfare and legacy of officers who pay the ultimate price will always be a priority under my administration,” he added.

The police chief also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of personnel, noting that the courage and dedication of officers on the frontline form the backbone of national security.

He prayed for the repose of the late officer’s soul and pledged that the Force would provide sustained support to the bereaved family during the period of mourning. #Securitynewsalert.com
