The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, has convened a strategic security meeting with senior officers of the command, charging them to strengthen proactive policing measures and enhance operational readiness across the state.
The meeting brought together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Commanders of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and Tactical Commanders to review the prevailing security situation and assess strategies for maintaining law and order.
Addressing the officers, the police commissioner stressed the importance of vigilance, intelligence gathering, effective supervision of personnel, and swift responses to security threats within their respective areas of responsibility. He also urged commanders to uphold professionalism and ensure that the same standards are maintained by officers under their command.
In a move aimed at boosting the operational capacity of the command, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to the police.
The protective equipment was formally presented to the commissioner by the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting security agencies with resources needed to safeguard lives and property.
Fatai expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for its continued partnership and support, noting that the equipment would improve operational effectiveness while enhancing the safety and morale of officers engaged in frontline and critical security duties.
The commissioner also commended residents of Lagos State for their cooperation and support in maintaining peace and security, acknowledging the role of public intelligence and community collaboration in the command’s achievements.
He appealed for sustained partnership from residents and stakeholders as the police intensify efforts to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of all residents and visitors in the state.
