Lagos Police Set to Begin Screening for New Constables on Monday

-

The Lagos State Police Command has announced that the physical and credential screening for the 2025/2026 recruitment of Police Constables will officially kick off this Monday, March 9, 2026.

Securitynewsalert.com learned that the exercise, conducted in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC), targets indigenes of Lagos State who successfully registered online for both General Duty and Specialist positions. The screening is scheduled to run for six weeks, concluding on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Candidates are expected to arrive at the Police College, Ikeja, by 7:00 am daily. To ensure a standardised process, the Command has issued a strict dress code and documentation guidelines.

“All applicants are required to appear in a clean white T-shirt and white shorts,” stated SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command. “Any candidate who fails to present the mandatory items will not be considered for screening.”

Applicants must arrive prepared with two white flat files containing their Invitation Slip with assigned tables, the Credential Screening Form, and their original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card. Educational and legal documents are also mandatory, including O-Level (GCE/SSCE) Certificates, Birth Certificates or Declarations of Age, and LGA/State of Origin Certificates.

Additionally, specialists must provide Trade Test Certificates, and all candidates must present duly completed and signed Guarantor forms with photocopies and passports of referees attached.

Amidst the high stakes of the recruitment drive, the Lagos State Police Command is moving to reassure the public of the integrity of the process. Officials emphasised that there are no “backdoor” entries or processing fees.

“The screening process is absolutely free and conducted strictly on merit,” SP Adebisi noted. “We are operating in line with the highest standards of professionalism and transparency. Members of the public should report any individual or group demanding gratification in connection with the exercise.”

Candidates are urged to stick strictly to their assigned dates and tables as indicated on their invitation slips to avoid overcrowding and ensure a seamless verification process.
