The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will commence physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables beginning from March 9, 2026.
The exercise, which targets candidates who completed the online recruitment registration, will run until April 18, 2026, in Rivers State.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, applicants are required to log into the official recruitment portal to confirm their application status and print necessary documents ahead of the screening.
“Applicants are advised to log in to the official recruitment portal to check their application status and print their guarantors form, application submission slip, invitation slip, credential screening form and physical screening form,” she said.
She noted that candidates must present several documents at the screening centres, including their invitation slip, National Identity Number printout or National ID card issued by the National Identity Management Commission, O-Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of state or local government of origin.
Other requirements include a duly completed guarantor’s form accompanied by photocopies of referees’ valid identification and passport photographs, as well as original and duplicate copies of all credentials packaged in two separate white flat files.
The screening in Rivers State will take place at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, located on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
Applicants have also been directed to appear at the venue dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts and white shorts.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Olugbenga Adepoju, wished shortlisted candidates success in the exercise and assured the public that the recruitment process would strictly follow the statutory requirements outlined in the Police Act and regulations.
“He further urges the shortlisted applicants to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and avoid acts capable of undermining the exercise,” the statement said.
The command also emphasised that the recruitment screening is free of charge and warned applicants to avoid individuals who may attempt to exploit them during the process.
