The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), mni, has emphasised that effective policing depends not only on operational strength but also on informed policies, coherent communication, and disciplined management practices.
Argungu remarked during the public presentation of “Articles on Policy Dissemination: Navigating the Management Decision on Issues”, a new book authored by Bolaji Kazeem, Deputy Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Police Affairs.
Represented by the PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC Chairman praised the author for producing a timely and valuable contribution to national discourse, noting that the book arrives at a moment when clarity in policy communication and sound decision-making are essential to strengthening public institutions.
He described the publication as “a thoughtful contribution to the ongoing national conversation on reforms, accountability, and administrative professionalism,” adding that it offers insights capable of enriching practitioners’ knowledge, guiding managers through complex organisational challenges, and deepening policy literacy across the public sector.
Argungu further stated that works of this nature help build a more responsive, transparent, and citizen-focused police system by providing perspectives aligned with contemporary policing reforms.
He congratulated the author and event organisers, while also commending the Ministry of Police Affairs for sustaining platforms that foster intellectual development and institutional strengthening.
